Hauppauge, NY – United Cerebral Palsy of Long Island (UCP-LI) was proud to be selected as The Long Island Elite’s Charity (LIE) partner in 2022. Their fundraising efforts raised critical funds needed to support the building of an accessible playground for special needs children at The Children’s Center at UCP-LI. The groundbreaking took place on Friday, 6/16/2023, marking the start of construction. The playground is expected to take three weeks to complete.
The Long Island Elite is a nonprofit organization that exists to provide passionate professionals a platform to forge meaningful relationships while strategically impacting local charities with fundraising and service.
“The Long Island Elite spent all of 2022 raising awareness and funds to build an adaptive playground at The Children’s Center. Participating in the groundbreaking, just a few short months later, makes our entire organization proud as we can now see the vision becoming a reality. Thank you to all who made this possible with their generous donations and thank you to UCP of Long Island for continuing its mission to advance the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of people with disabilities in our community” said Frank Morizio, Jr. LI Elite Board President.
The Children’s Center at UCP-LI has provided over 61 years of excellence in educational services including early intervention, preschool, and school-age programs tailored to meet the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of children with disabilities from birth to 21 years of age. Year-round programs,
screenings, evaluations, therapies, home or center-based instruction, support groups and assistive technology services are offered.
